It just has to be said.

Lauren Conrad of "The Hills" has her own clothing line. It is overpriced, uninspired and frankly booooooooring. Reports in the blogospear is that the line has failed and she is taking a few seasons off to "redesign" and "re-market" to add in more high fashion pieces.

I think she would have more success "redesigning" and "re-marketing" to strippers and college freshman as she has quite the knack for designing trashy cut out dresses as shown below.

Case in point: prominent pubic bone - never an attractive quality in a frock, even if it is grape purple.

bad. bad. bad.

I am a horrible blogger. I don't update, I don't follow one particular subject and most of my posts are grammatically incorrect. Awesome.

I promise I will try harder. Tomorrow.

Since I am in one big bad mood today I want to do something for myself to brighten my day. Normally I buy myself some flowers - sunflowers to be exact, but I am thinking of revisiting happy times from my childhood and buying myself a big bunch of colorful balloons.

When I was a child on special days my dad would come home from work with a balloon for me. Normally it would have Hello Kitty on it but sometimes it would be a whole bunch of beautiful shiny balloons. I would parade around the house with them tied to my wrist and pretend that I was seeing the world from up above. In my mind I could see the Eiffel Tower, Pyramids and Great All of China.

I think today would be the perfect day to escape on my "balloon plane" so I think I will stop off at Mr. Party on the way home.

Cheers.

monday blues?

This weekend took a lot out of me and this week is going to be even worse. After a fun and fantastic engagement party for my dear friend MK and a busy Sunday of traveling I am completely worn down to the quick. I have been sitting around my office contemplating if I should leave or not and I simply can't decide. Part of me says I need to make myself stay because of all the work I need to get done. I already am looking at coming into the office on Saturday but I am afraid if I need to leave then I will have to also come in Sunday which will lead to a not fun weekend for me.

I am simply going to have to suck it up, drink tea, listen to my ipod and churn out work like it is nobodies business.

another blog you say?

So I have started another blog. What makes this blog unique is that it actually has a point. One day, while slaving away at my non profit one of my co-worker (who also happens to be a friend) approached me and mentioned a fitness challenge she wanted to get involved in. We whipped each other into a frenzy over the possibility of winning and started plotting our strategy for victory. Unfortunately, we had too few team members to participate and decided to create our own. hence "Crawling Across Virginia". Our goal is to figuratively exercise our way, using a system that converts physical activity into miles, across the entire Commonwealth of Virginia. The is no small feat as the state is 480 miles from West to East.

Hard. Yes.
Impossible. Not at all.

The blog, which we will both be writing for is located at www.crawlingacrossvirginia.blogspot.com

I do hope you join us.

GRE attttttttttt

It is that time of the year... GRE time.

While I have avoided committing to taking it as a result of my indecisiveness surrounding my future (notice the intentional use of passive voice) it is time to suck it up. My spring is going to be chock full of prepping flash cards and memorizing all the vocabulary and math I thought I left behind in college. Thanks to a good friend of mine who just finished her perilous journey thorough the post-bachelor world of standardized tests I have half the work done for me; minus the studying. (damn).

Our exact conversation was:

Lisa: well i have flash cards i made and everything...you are set
and since you vocab is more extensive than mine, you will do great

My response:
me: ah no.. i operate on the premise that I need to fake it until I make it...

the best things in life are free...

I have realized it is time to tighten up my proverbial financial belt. With all the upcoming weddings (including mine) I need to be very watchful of my spending. My goal is to have a large sum in the bank by the time I get married while being able to afford all the dresses, shower/wedding gifts for my friends that are brides or pregnant and be able to afford to have a fantastic honeymoon on a sandy beach somewhere.

I am going to be spending a lot less time on fashion blogs and a lot more on finance blogs.

ugh.

peep that 50 cent

Today, I almost had an "accident" in my office chair. The reason being that 50 cent has his own Twitter Feed - for reals. I subscribed to it of course as I could not pass up a chance to see what Mr.50 is up to during the day.

What insprirational message does "fity" have up today you ask? There are three to be exact:

1. My ambition leads me through a tunnel that never ends

(awwww.....how sweet fity)

2. Trailer ofmy new movie Dead Man Runnin check it outhttp://tinyurl.com/caryb5

My absolute favorite part of this is the picture he has chosen as his thumbnail:

GRAPHICALLY RENDERED "Fity"

Peep this...

So after much deliberation (and an email saying Melia wanted to "follow" me) I have decided to actually update my twitter account. I initially set it up to stalk others but now, in true karmatic form, it is time for me to be the one that is stalked. Luckily twitter is easy as pie to operate and I can even update via text message. My life as I know it will be on open book. An added plus is it will be much easier for my friends to located me as I tend to go MIA from time to time.

Peep this twitter.

You bought WHAT on Ebay ?!?!?!?!

I have not been on ebay in for-ev-er and so I started browsing. It was not until I had already bid on two items before I even realized why I simply do not visit ebay to browse.....

Here are my most recent purchases and also the reason why I had to stay in this past weekend.

Next stop, yogaville

After almost a year (ok..maybe two) of being a complete unhealthy, lazy snob, I am at my wits end with myself. I am sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. So I have adjusted my routine to include twice-daily workouts and plenty of clean eating. Aside from the popcorn I shoved in my mouth last night during JCVD*, I have been doing this now for three days and I already feel more focused, healthy and strong.

My workouts consist of:

One morning Yoga or Pilates routine

One 1 hour session in the gym for cardio and strength training.

Right now I am about 30 lbs heavier than where I want to be, so I will update you on my progress on Wednesday (the dreaded weight-in day at Weight Watchers).

* JSVD = John Claude Van Dam - (seriously that is the name of the movie)

Next Stop.. Aggressive Accessories

This spring I am all about accessories; big, obnoxious, aggressive accessories.

Shirt and Necklace: Creatures of the Air (Shane Gabier & Christopher Peters)
